I’ve just tweaked the design of this blog a little bit. Primarily by making a snazzy new header and eliminating the floating elements that have been causing problems on mobile/tablet browsers. Watch for that sidebar on the right-hand side to grow in the future, too.

I’ve finished uploading all my cartoons from 2007, which more or less completes my archives all the way back to 2002! You can view the entire archive here.
I will be posting new cartoons every Monday from now on, so stay tuned!

Ten summers ago, I drew a little comic alongside Sidwood called OmniCo. It was a workplace strip set in the near future, where countless mergers and acquisitions have led to every industry on earth being dominated by a single conglomerate:

The label on the bourbon in this strip is one of my all-time favorite details I’ve ever added to a cartoon.
Check them all out in the archive.

I have finally begun to upload my 2007 State News cartoons to the archive. I had lost the original files but luckily I had boxes full of physical copies on hand, which is why the cartoons from that era in the archives are going to look like this:
You can watch the 2007 archives grow over the next few days if you’d like. Many, many, many more to come!

While working on my new portfolio I came across this old Sideshow sketch from 2005, one of the few sketches I made an on-camera appearance in. It’s a very low-budget parody of the first two seasons of Lost, which I hadn’t heard of at the time. I play John Locke, which is super badass in retrospect.
I have finally gotten this site looking the way I want it to. Along with a new portfolio and the introduction of merchandise, I have condensed the sidebar menu and made it float on the page.
Also, I’ve located my State News cartoons from Spring 2007 and will be posting them to the archive soon.

I have uploaded all of my published editorial cartoons from The State News, except for my last semester there (Spring 2007). This brings the Editorial Cartoon Archive up to 355 cartoons, and I’m fairly sure that number will broach 400 when I locate my missing work from 2007. Stay tuned!

My graphic design portfolio for my senior review has been posted online. Be sure to check it out, particularly if you’re the HR manager of some really cool graphic design firm.

All 180 “Sidwood” strips from its run at The State News have been posted to the archive. It makes me feel incredibly old to know that by the end of this month, six years will have elapsed since the strip’s conclusion. Onward and upward, though — I will be reviving the strip in the near future (despite the fact that the main character was killed in a nuclear explosion), so stay tuned!
I’ve also posted several stragglers to the Humor Cartoons section, so check those out too.

The first 109 strips of my State News comic “Sidwood” have been posted to the archive. The rest of them will be posted this weekend, and then it’s on to the hundreds of editorial cartoons published from 2005-2007.

I’ve just posted the editorial cartoons from between my time with The State News and The Clarion Call. You can check them out in the archive or start with the first new entry, from March 2007.
I’m also beginning to add my Sidwood cartoons from The State News. As of this post, there are 30 cartoons in the archive.

I’ve just completed uploading my old, old, incredibly old comic strip from 2002-2003. You can check them out here, or start with the very first strip. Originally published on Keenspace (now Comic Genesis), it was the first version of the strip that would later appear in The State News from 2005-2006.
Fun fact: one week from tomorrow will be the 10th anniversary of the first Sidwood strip!

I’ve just located my editorial cartoons from the Fall 2008 semester, bringing the archive back to the beginning of my time at The Clarion Call. Check them out here. Stay tuned over the next week, when I’ll be uploading my cartoons from The State News, Michigan State University’s student daily.
No cartoon today, running a bit behind. I’ll post one over the weekend to make up for it, I promise. In other news, I’ve located my old cartoons from The State News, numbering over 300, which I’ll be adding to the archives over the coming days.

I’ve just uploaded all of my cartoons and essays clear back to January 2009, making the archives complete back to that time. The archive now includes 80 cartoons and 4 of my columns from The Clarion Call. There’s still hundreds more to come, as there’s my cartoons and essays from my first semester at The Call and my entire State News archive left to upload.
Stay tuned, folks— many more exciting things to come. In the meantime, you should peruse the Topic groups on the left sidebar, which are now teeming with years’ worth of material. —MR
I’ve just uploaded all my Clarion Call cartoons from the Spring 2011 semester. Check them out in the archives.

I’ve just added all my Clarion Call cartoons from the Fall 2011 semester to the archive! Be sure to check them out.
Watch out for more of my back archives to be posted— I eventually intend to upload everything I have all the way back to my State News cartoons from 2005.

Just finished up the new About Me section. Check it out; I tried my best to make it much more entertaining than my actual life.
Now all I gotta do is make a new archives page, a new portfolio, a new resumé, and set up a CafePress store. Hooray?
Just as an aside to the small handful of people who read this blog, I’ve just deleted all the posts on this blog from before this year. I will be uploading the back archives of my cartoons and writings over the next few months with their original dates. I’ll also be updating “About Me,” “Archive,” etc. as part of the ongoing redesign. —MR
